To provide walks and talks to clients

The lawful purpose is contractual and the data we hold is names of clients, email addresses and telephone numbers, plus details of walks and talks attended or booked. Your information is kept in relation to contacting you about your enquiry and/or bookings. If you have given consent, your details will also be held on our mailing list.
If you contact us via the contact form, unless otherwise requested, you give consent for your details to be held on our mailing list, as well as contacting you about specific enquiries and bookings.

Who we share your data with

Apart from the instances already mentioned, data is collected when booking a walk or talk through Eventbrite, or by signing up to our mailing list, which is held in Mailchimp. They each have their own privacy policies at Eventbrite and Mailchimp.

How long we retain your data

We retain data on walks taken for up to seven years for legal reasons, but this information is not used for any reason other than contacting clients about walks they are booked on. Mailing list data is held for five years, at which point we check to ensure people are still interested in belonging to our mailing list. 

What rights you have over your data

You can request access to the data we hold, and to that data which is held securely by Eventbrite and Mailchimp; you can also request rectification; and erasure of all data. Any such requests for access, rectification or erasure will completed within one month. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

How we protect your data

Data is mostly held online, backed up on encrypted servers, and under lock and key if on physical media. Lesley Thompson is the Data Controller and has a limited role as a Data Processor, as most of the processing is carried out by Eventbrite and Mailchimp.
Other than to these data processor providers, we do not pass on any data for third party marketing purposes.
We do not collect and process data either from any third party suppliers
We do not collect data on children under 16 or special category data.
