‘Virtual’ walks online encourage you to imagine a real-life walking route through the use of maps and contemporary photos, and also include historical illustrations. As we are not physically walking, we can cover the ground quite quickly, so an online tour lasts for 45 mins to an hour. If you live locally, they can also provide some inspiration for daily exercise, which is of course useful at a time of COVID restrictions.
You will need access to a computer or tablet and a stable internet connection to appreciate these tours fully.
As pandemic restrictions have eased, I am currently concentrating on getting back out on to the streets again for real life guided walks. However, if virtual tours and/or local history lectures are of interest, for example for a presentation to a community group, please contact me.
‘Thank you, Lesley for a fabulous talk, you’ve really conquered it! We all had a very enjoyable and informative afternoon’
‘No matter how well I think I know an area I always discover many new and fascinating facts on one of Lesley’s walks. Can’t wait to get walking again when it’s possible’
